Richard Jones

Founder/Executive Director

Rick's passion for the disenfranchised began as child. He would witness his mother's heart for others by her selfless acts of benevolence, compassionate nature and purposeful intention. Gussie Jones was and continues to be Rick's role model and inspiration. After graduating from Florida State University and successful careers in Sales, Marketing and Business Development across several industries, including entrepreneurship and non-profits, Rick applied his experience and passion in the pursuit of his purpose. Rick explains how he never lost the love for those less fortunate. "It wasn't until I found myself without a place to live, did I realize what God was calling me to do."  As a result of Rick's personal "trials and tribulations" of homelessness, he began to seek answers to the questions of life. Rick found the answers at Cottonwood School of ministry where he enrolled and received his degree in Biblical Studies. "My time at Cottonwood not only led me to the answers I sought but shaped my perspective on life."  Rick is married to Sherita McLamore from Washington, DC. Together, they navigate life's journey, drawing strength from their shared commitment. Rick is the father of 1 son, Isaiah, and boasts that fatherhood remains his greatest motivation."
